Outreach and Community Mobilization Coordinator

This position will be primarily responsible for leading on conducting community mobilization and outreach among Egyptians, migrants, and refugee communities with the involvement of volunteers and key community actors. The selected individual will manage a team of 8 community volunteers that will be conducting various activities like home visits, referrals, social cohesion activities, and identification of vulnerabilities. This post requires frequent travel in Greater Cairo as outreach activities may take place in SC different field offices and other premises.

Essential:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Psychology, Sociology, Development, Political Science and related studies
  • 2 years of previous relevant experience
  • Sensitivity to needs of vulnerable individuals
  • Demonstrated community outreach and mobilization experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly vulnerable groups
  • Awareness of the security context and political situation in Egypt for migrants, refugees, and the local community.
  • Able to work effectively within a team and/or individually
  • Well organized with strong time-management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Shares Save the Children’s vision and values
  • Previous experience working with refugees;
  • Previous experience working with NGOs.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English, written and spoken is a must.
