The project coordinator will work with the entrepreneurship department to help Syrian and host nation entrepreneurs improve their business skills to be able to create more jobs and be more financially sustainable.
The hybrid project will begin with 4 hackathons available to entrepreneurs in Jordan & Lebanon. Those who qualify will move to the next level, which will include an intensive 4-month incubation, pitch days, and a Demo Day where the businesses will battle it out for cash prizes.

Duties and Responsibilities
Project implementation
- Supervise and manage project staff and external short-term consultants, lead and coach the project team in both substantial and operational issues.
- Undertake day to day management of the project, including smooth project implementation, efficient use of resources.
- Activity and resource planning & logistics management.
- Controlling time management, deadlines, project required deliverables.
- Managing timeframe and outputs of each phase of the project.
- Monitoring overall progress and use of resources.
- Report and work with the Entrepreneurship Program Manager to manage unexpected project issues and risks.
- Work with the project team to define the curriculum and structure of the mentoring/coaching program.
- Overseeing the technical assistance team members with setting up tools and systems.
- Work with the communications team and project designer to create and share content for social media, press releases, website updates, PR agencies etc.
- Coordination between teams and service providers.
- Mapping of investors and facilitation of connecting participants and investors.
- Management of Demo and Pitching days preparations, development of invite list including investors and other investment bodies to attend,and recruitment of judges.
- Coordinate with donors, UN agencies, relevant NGOs and other stakeholders at country and regional level in close coordination with the program manager,
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Human Resources & Finance coordination
- Recruitment of coaches/mentors, coaching plan and milestones monitoring.
- Recruit mentors from Jusoors database, and Jusoors extended network and coordinate contracting mentors and vetting process.
- Matching coaches/mentors to Startups depending on subject matter expertise and onboard coaches/mentors.
- Oversight of the scheduled coaching / mentoring sessions to ensure it works for both teams and mentors and reminders to attend.
- Liaising on with both the mentors and the teams to prepare in advance for sessions, and follow up as needed .
- Gain feedback from all stakeholders on the project and make improvements as needed.
- Ensure appropriate recording and accounting documentation as required by Jusoor and donor and preparation of required financial reports.
- Manage the project budget.
- Record lessons learnt.
Procurement & Logistics coordination
- Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
- Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
- Planning and managing logistics, and transportation.
- Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
- Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
- Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
- Keep track of quality, quantity, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
- Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Work with Jusoors MEAL Manager and project M&E assistant to ensure data collection and analysis.
- Coordination with MEAL & Fundraising departments on all MEAL needs, including baseline and endline reporting, mid-term updates and final report, managing necessary reporting and documentation to Entrepreneurship Program Manager.
- Work with project M&E assistant in conducting & managing participants attendance and progress through the project, ensuring overall satisfaction of participants, Trainers, Coaches and Service providers.
Required Skills and Experience
- A degree in Business Management or a related field is required
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience and knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
- Strong mindset for continuous improvement and meeting or exceeding expectations and able to demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality
- Business driven, people focused, with exceptional influencing skills; Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, presentation and time-management skills
- Hands-on experience with managing clients and teams.
- Experience working in entrepreneurship projects / competitions (preferable)
